A day in the life...

A typical day with us

Our early morning starters enjoy a nourishing breakfast at 8:00. This is a relaxing activity to welcome the children into the day with a few songs before we joined by more friends are 9:00 to do our circle time. Creating a calm environment in the morning helps our Montisaurs exercise their focus and concentration allowing them to immerse fully into their ‘work’. Our smallest members will usually go for a morning nap and spend some time in the baby room. ‘Working’ is the most important part of our day, children choose from a range of purposeful play and are free to explore their interests. We provide lots of sensory activities to enhance experimental learning and improve our motor skills, varying our focus throughout the week on different aspects of curriculum (physical, numeracy, literacy, expressive art). Lunch is served at midday and then some of our Montisaurs will go for a siesta.

In the afternoons, we engage in team building projects such as tending to our plants, sorting activities, water play or something of that nature to work on our problem solving and social skills. We love being outdoors! We wind down in the late afternoons with a story before some of our Montisaurs are collected at 16:00. Our full day attendees will have a home cooked supper served at 16:30 before collection at 17:30.

At our nursery, we also teach the importance of sustainability through fun games and stories. Kids learn to care for their environment while having a blast! By choosing eco-friendly learning materials and non-toxic cleaning resources, we’re fostering intention and awareness for the world around us. Everyday is a chance to learn, explore, and protect our beautiful Earth! 🌍

Our adventures will vary from day-to-day and will be available to preview on the ‘Tapestry Journal’ app for parents

Clara has created something magical in the heart of Southfields and if you are looking for somewhere where your child will thrive, and be surrounded by love and care, look no further. I’m overwhelmed by how special this place is - I was so nervous to start my daughter at nursery and I couldn’t be more grateful to Clara, Shannon, Sara and Bel for making it the most welcoming, supportive and kind space to leave her. She thinks of them as family. I don’t normally write google reviews but if I could write 500 for this place I would.

We have had such a positive experience with this lovely little nursery so far. Very kind owner and teachers, and our daughter loves going. They go to great lengths to work with each family to help their child settle in. It’s tiny, and with only a few kids it feels like a warm and safe place for the little ones’ first experience away from home. Each baby is treated with respect and kindness and they are learning so much, it’s amazing to see. The garden is especially lovely (which is nit easy to find in Southfields!). We feel lucky to be part of the montisaurus family.
